Animals and Lifecycles - What is a Lifecycle?
All living things develop or grow, in stages. The first stage is when a new living thing begins. Then it grows into a young thing and keeps changing as it gets older until it is fully developed, or mature.
We call these stages of growth a lifecycle.
Lifecycles keep going when new living things begin, and older mature living things die. The stages of growth are different for different types of living things, but every living thing has a lifecycle.
Animals are one type of living thing, and different animals have different lifecycle stages.
Examples of animal lifecycles:
- Lifecycle of a frog (Amphibian)
- Lifecycle of a human being (Mammal)
- Lifecycle of butterfly (Arthropod)
- Lifecycle of a chicken (Bird)
