Ghost Mine Episode 9

Computerised sun paths

Ben opens more files on his notebook and adjusts the images on the screen. The others are amazed to see rock formations they recognise change colour and lines appear showing sun paths on different days of the year.

	“Man, this is awesome. It’s like a computer game.”
	“We saw those rock pillars when we were at Lookout Mountain. Now they’re like a gateway for the sun to shine through.”
	“The mine entrance should be about fifty feet up the east side of this formation, if the calculations are right.”
	“Let’s go first thing tomorrow. I can’t wait to find it.”
	“It shouldn’t be too hard to climb up there. The terrain wasn’t difficult when we climbed before.”
	“It could take a few hours though, so we should start early and we’ll need sunscreen, food and lots of water.”
	“I’ll go and get everything after dinner. Where’s the nearest shop Laura?”
	“Tillie Jackson will have everything we need. She’s usually there until late.”
	"Great."
	“I’ll print some of these co-ordinates as maps so we can follow them on the ground.”
	“That’s settled. Now who’s cooking dinner? I’m hungry.”

Everyone laughs at her and Brad and Laura head into the kitchen to start cooking the food they prepared earlier, ready for Aunt Jean coming home.
