Bears
Bears live in the wild on every continent today except Australia and Antarctica. There are 8 species of them:
- American Black Bear
- Asiatic Black Bear
- Brown Bear or Grizzly
- Polar Bear
- Giant Panda
- Sloth Bear
- Spectacled Bear
- Sun Bear.
All the species belong to one family, which scientists call Ursidae.
The Polar Bear, Brown Bear and American Black Bear are found in more places than any of the other species.
Scientists know more about the Brown Bear and the Asiatic Black Bear than about the other species.
