Ghost Mine Episode 8

Another burglary

Brad helps Megan back inside, avoiding the broken glass.

Linda fetches a broom and dustpan from the laundry.

 

 

 

	“Come and sit down Megs, and I’ll look at your feet.”
	“Thanks. I don't think it's much.”
	“We don’t know if the intruder was in the house. Brad and Ben, help me see if anything is missing.”

Jean puts ointment and sticking plasters on Meg’s feet and then phones Deputy Sheriff Wayne Brooks at Barstow. She can’t believe a second break-ins has happened.

Brad, Ben, Laura and Linda finish looking round.

	“Nothing seems to be missing upstairs, or down here.”
	“Wrong. Jeremiah’s torn map piece is gone. I was working on it with my notebook over there. My notebook’s still here, but the map isn’t.”
	“Don’t tell mom. She’ll get angry again about what we’re doing. And we’re finished now the map’s gone.”
	“It’s not entirely gone. I scanned it into the computer. I’ve been working on it and I’ll show you tomorrow.”

Aunt Jean comes back from making her call and tells them to go back to bed again and try to sleep. Wayne Brooks will come by in the morning, and she’ll do the talking when he does.
