Ghost Mine Episode 7

Rocky escape

Laura, Ben and Linda stare in horror as rocks and boulders tumble down the mountain towards Megs and Brad.

Megs screams “look out” and leaps at Brad, knocking him sideways under an overhang.

The first boulders crash where they were climbing, and more rocks bounce and fall around them. The noise is deafening.

After a few minutes the rock slide stops and Linda scrambles towards them.

	“Are you alright? I thought you were goners!”
	“We’re okay. But it was close.”
	“It didn’t just happen. I saw someone up there, and I think it was Joe Whitecloud. The sun reflected on that shiny belt buckle he wears. I’m sure it was him.”
	“It can’t be! Not Joe! We’ll have to tell the police about this.”
	“Tell them what? That we were nearly hit by rocks, I was half blinded by the sun and thought I saw Joe Whitecloud at the place where the rock slide started? I didn’t see him create it.”
	“We should keep this to ourselves until we’ve got more proof. I think we’ve done enough climbing for now. Let’s go home. Lookout Mountain can wait a bit longer.”

Everyone agrees. Still shocked they pick their way slowly down again towards the car.

They have all had enough excitement for one day.

Was Joe Whitecloud trying to injure or kill them? And if so, why would he do it?
