Ghost Mine Episode 11

Out of the sleeping cavern

Shining their flashlights and brushing dirt from the rock, the detectives and Laura search for Jeremiah’s sun sign on each wall of the cavern.

Laura is lucky again.

 

 

	“Over here where the floor slopes down! The sign is near the ground and the rock formation is different to the rest of the wall.”
	“Let me see. It looks like a small door set between bigger rocks.”
	“It's very small for a door. We couldn't get through there.”
	“Maybe I can push it and see what happens.”

Brad takes off his backpack, sits on the floor and puts his feet on the sign. He pushes and the rock begins to move.

He pushes again. With a crash the rock falls backwards, and then the larger rocks each side fall on top of it in a mini landslide.

The sound is deafening and everyone is covered in dust. Brad scrambles to his feet.

	“Wow, that was easier than I expected.”
	“Brad the rock kicker! Achoo!.”
	“We have to keep moving – get out of this dust. I’ll climb over the fallen rocks first. Shine your flashlights for me.”
	“Be careful Ben, those rocks aren’t stable. They could move and crush your feet.”
	“I think its okay. Yes, made it. Now one at a time – Linda first. Take my hand and move slowly. That’s it.”

Linda picks her way over the fallen rock pile with Ben’s help, and then the others follow one by one.

Soon they are standing in the tunnel on the other side of the sleeping cavern.
