Decisions for Tillie

Megs wants to help Tillie, but her problem involves the police and Tillie has to decide how she will face up to her past. Megs thinks she needs a bit of time to do this.

Megan - Ace Detective

“I won’t say anything to Aunt Jean or Laura, so you can decide what to do.”

Tillie Jackson with her hair up

“Thank you. I’d like to apologise to Jean for breaking in to her house.”

Megan - Ace Detective

“I’m sure she’ll understand if you explain everything.”

Tillie Jackson with her hair up
“If I tell her, it’ll put her in a bad position. I’d have to go to the police and turn myself in. I’m scared to do that.”

Megan - Ace Detective

“Wayne Brooks the Deputy Sheriff is easy to talk to and he seems fair. Let him help you.”

Tillie Jackson with her hair up
“I’ll think about it.”

Megan - Ace Detective

“Okay. By the way, was Joe Whitecloud involved in threatening you as well as Bud Morgan?

Tillie Jackson with her hair up
“No, not in threatening me. But he’s always sneaking around and he often turns up where Bud is. I don’t trust him, but I don’t have any proof.”

Megan - Ace Detective

“Thanks, Mrs Jackson. Well I’d better get going, if you’re okay now. Good luck – I know things will work out.”

Tillie Jackson with her hair up
“I hope so. You drive carefully now.”

Night sky in MacKenzie WellsMegan picks up the grocery bags and Tilley lets her out of the bakery. As she drives home, Megs thinks about Bud Morgan and Joe Whitecloud.

Bud is definitely scary and they should keep out of his way if they can. But is Joe Whitecloud helping him? Her gut feeling tells her Joe is a good man but that he is involved somehow. They must be careful around him.

Will the detectives be able to find the entrance to Jermiah’s mine? Is Joe Whitecloud on their side?
