Finally Megan tells Deputy Sheriff Wayne Brooks about the torn map piece being stolen last night and how she didn’t get a good look at the intruder.

“I got good reports about you from people I trust in Australia. So any hunches you want checked out, let me know before you go off and get yourself into trouble. Here’s my numbers – call me day or night. You’re in my territory now young lady.” |

The Deputy Sheriff drives off, and Megs goes back inside to see if the others are up yet. Today she wants them to concentrate on finding the missing words in the clue on Jeremiah’s torn map – even though the map piece has been stolen.
