Read Jeremiah's letter

Brad - Ace Detective

"This letter says Jeremiah left one half of a map. Did you find it Laura?"

Laura
"No. There was only the skull, the bullroarer and this rattle."
Brad - Ace Detective
"We need to figure out what Jeremiah was on about."
Linda - Ace Detective
"And why he kept this rattle. Tell me again who could have used it."
Ben - Ace Detective
"A Shaman. That’s a priest or magic man. Many cultures have them, including the ancient Celts in England."
Laura
"And the Native American Indian tribes. They use rattles like this in ceremonies."
Linda - Ace Detective

"It’s made of tortoise shell – as big as your hand Brad, and pretty heavy. Cool! But it doesn’t rattle, so I guess it’s broken."

Ben - Ace Detective

"Here, let me see. It’s a very simple design – a few stones inside to make a noise. Too simple to break. Wait – there’s a piece of paper stuck inside. We need tweezers or something."

Laura

"There’s some in the kitchen – I’ll get them."

Laura rushes inside and the detectives hear her rummaging in a drawer. Then she runs back and gives Ben a pair of long, thin tweezers.

Ben - Ace Detective

"Thanks. Perfect. Now, if I can grip the paper through this crack in the shell. Let’s hope it doesn’t crumble – it’s pretty old. Got it… there."

Linda - Ace Detective

"What is it? Open it, quickly."

Ben - Ace Detective

"It looks like a map – well, half of one. It’s been torn."
