Mowaljarlai in the park The detectives remember meeting Mowaljarlai in the park near Danny’s house, and his reaction when they showed him Laura’s photos of the skull and bullroarer.

	“Mowaljarlai is the grandfather of our friend Danny. He’s a tribal elder, back in Australia.”
	“He said the spirits of his ancestors will be able to rest if we return these human remains to him. We promised to return them.”
	“And so you shall."
	“We could contact Danny and get Mowaljarlai to talk to you Joe, if that’s okay?”
	“Yes. That would be good. Mowaljarlai and I will take care of everything.”

	“At the bottom of this map piece it says ‘Greed started it and greed will end it.’ And it has Jeremiah’s initials.”
	“What does it mean?”
	“It’s another clue. It tells us that all this started a long time ago. Jeremiah and Gerhard Morganheimer knew each other on the Ballarat goldfields and they both sailed to California on the 'Shenandoah' Confederate ship."
	“But one was a good man and the other was a baddie, right?"
	“Right. Jeremiah found out what Gerhard had done and tried to stop it. Laura, Bud said Gerhard killed Jeremiah. Threw him down a mine shaft somewhere in this mine. I’m sorry.”
	“It’s okay. We might never know where his body is, but we can do what he wanted and give back the human remains and artifacts.”
	“So even though greed started this years ago, and greed ended Jeremiah's life - there's a happy ending. Sort of."

They have all forgotten Elmore, who is still upset about what happened to Bud.
