Mystery at Ghost Mine Case Meeting

“We need to find out more about the Aboriginal artefact. See
if it’s a bullroarer as Laura says. Let’s go
to the museum – they have lots of information about Aboriginal
artefacts.”

“I’ve done an Internet search. Laura’s
right - it probably is a bullroarer. They were used by tribes
in Victoria in the 1800s, including around Ballarat. I think
we should go to Ballarat and find
out more”.

 |
“The skull’s interesting. But we do need to find
out what the Bullroarer does – and what it’s used
for. A trip to Ballarat sounds
good. Maybe I could borrow
mum’s car if she’s not using it.”

 |
“There’s a boy in my class who might know something. His
grandfather’s an Aboriginal elder – a wise man. Their
tribe still exists, even though they live in the city. I vote
we talk to Danny and his grandfather first”.
