Ghost Mine Episode 4

Mystery at Ghost Mine an Ace Detectives Mystery Adventure

21st Century technology in MacKenzie Wells

Laura takes the detectives round the house and shows them their rooms. Everywhere is cool and peaceful, with overhead fans turning lazily, comfortable furniture and interesting objects collected on the MacKenzie family's travels.

Back downstairs, Laura leads them outside to a shady courtyard, with climbing plants and flowering shrubs in pots. Wooden chairs are scattered around an old table - and a small fountain trickles gently.

Linda splashes her hands and flicks water at Brad.

Laura

"Water’s scarce here. We don’t take long showers and we only wash the car occasionally. MacKenzie Wells recycles the town water, and we use grey water from the house for this courtyard."

Linda - Ace Detective

"Is water recycled from toilets as well?"

Ben - Ace Detective

"Yes – but it’s heavily filtered. Many places in Australia use that technology too. It’s quite OK, Linda."

Linda - Ace Detective

"Umm…"

Laura

"Let me show you Mom’s office. She runs her business and manages the old town renovation projects from there."

Laura opens the door to the office. The place is a technology hub. Ben is impressed with the equipment sitting on benches around the room.

Laura
"Mom creates online content – web sites and training and stuff. She’s always got something on the go. Ben, she says you can hook your laptop up to our network and use whatever you need."

Ben - Ace Detective

"Wow – thanks. There’s some powerful stuff in here. I’ll just have a look at …."

Linda - Ace Detective

"No, later – I’m hungry. Forget technology - let’s eat!"
