Ghost Mine Episode 3

Meeting Ralph

A huge angry dog has bailed Linda up against the workshop wall and is growling at her.

	"Aaahhh! It’s going to eat me!"
	"Wait – Linda. Stand still. I know you’re scared, but don’t move. The dog’s only doing what it’s been trained to do – guarding!"

Brad edges forward, keeping his eye on the snarling dog.

"Come on boy, nobody wants to steal anything. Take it easy boy – that’s it. Linda, keep still."

Brad walks forward again slowly, holding out both hands - fingers spread wide.

"Linda – back away slowly, and keep looking at him. That’s it. Good boy."

Linda backs away and Brad keeps talking calmly to the dog. The animal relaxes and makes a whining noise. Brad reaches out and pats his smooth, silky head.

Suddenly a door further down the building crashes open and a tall, angry man in greasy overalls appears. Brad is startled and the other detectives are scared.

The dog cowers and whimpers.
