The afternoon sun beats down and they are soaked in sweat.
Linda stops and leans against a tall rock to rest. She pulls an apricot nut bar from her backpack and munchies it. It’s yummy. A light breeze blows across her, drying the sweat on her face. It’s very pleasant.Suddenly she stops in mid-bite. There hasn’t been any wind on the mountain at all, so where is this cool air coming from?
She spins round and runs her hands over the rock face. Air is coming from a long crack that doesn’t look natural.
She jumps up and down, raising a cloud of dust.

“It’s definitely an opening, but its clogged with dirt. Let’s clean it out with our knives Brad.” |
Brad and Ben scrape dirt out of the long crack with their knives while Laura and Megan use stones to scrape away soil from around the base of the rock. Linda jumps up and down in excitement, muttering to herself.
