Kryal Castle
European settlement in Australia is too recent to have real medieval
castles, like those in Wales or along the River Rhine in Germany. Kryal
Castle was built for fun, on the outskirts of Ballarat, to give people
a taste of medieval life.
You can see:
- Medieval re-enactments
- Displays of arms and armour
- Live birds of prey
- Magic shows.
The castle has towers, parapets, battlements – and a moat and drawbridge. You can stay over, and sleep in a royal chamber fit for a prince or princess if you wish.
