Ghost Mine Episode 2

Mystery at Ghost Mine an Ace Detectives Mystery Adventure

Creswick

Fifteen minutes drive north of Ballarat is the historic township of Creswick. During the gold rush more than 25,000 people lived here and sought their fortunes. But in 1882 disaster struck at the New Australasian No 2 Mine, north of the town. The mine was flooded and rescuers pumped water out for three days, trying to save the miners. 27 men were trapped and only 5 were saved. This was the worst gold mining accident that has ever happened in Australia.

Today Creswick welcomes visitors who are exploring the goldfields region. There are creeks and lakes for swimming and fishing, a koala park and many other attractions. The town is famous for its hospitality and good food, and is close to the mineral springs of Daylesford.
