The Egyptian Temple in the U.S.A.

My American cousin Laura said there's an Egyptian temple in New York City. Is this true? And if so, where is it and how did it get there?

 

 

It's true! It's the Temple of Dendur.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's an old ruin! It's hard to tell if it's Egyptian, but that doesn't look like New York!

 

 

It looks old because it's ancient. It's Egyptian because it was built in Egypt, in the south towards the border with Sudan.

 

 

The land around it was flooded when a dam was made and Lake Nasser was formed.

So the temple had to be moved to save it. It ended up in modern New York.
